Artist Mother Teacher Curious Person
I live in downtown Charleston, South Carolina where I am enjoying the beauty of the history and sea all around me. At this time, I am happily employed at Robert Lange Studio Gallery helping them when they need extra support, I also teach privately and fill commissions and paint and draw. I volunteer for the Charleston Parks Conservancy in order to get my gardening fix and tend to the roses of Charleston. I miss my beautiful roses.
I am a native of Richmond, Virginia and lived in Macon, Georgia for 37 years raising my children. I am a teacher of art and I often travel to take Master Classes from the world's greatest artists. I'm curious and I'm interested in how to express the world around me. I use many different media from pastel to oil to watercolor to egg tempera. I'm never so happy as I am when I'm making some art or teaching some art. I'm a mother of 3 grown children and from a family of 5 girls. I love roses.
Recently, I had the honor of being the Curator of Art at The Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon, Georgia. As curator, I had many responsibilities: to help interpret and preserve the 65 year old permanent collection, to interview and work with contemporary artists and curate shows, and to bring art- in all iterations, to our community which serves over 70 counties in Middle Georgia. All things ART- for you and for me- all of us. I wrote about art as well and the blog is called “Reflections on our Collection”. You can visit my artist interviews at our MAS Instagram TV.
I am available to teach and mentor if my schedule permits. I currently invite students into my downtown Charleston apartment to teach and then we walk to the nearby Gibbes and galleries while I use the fine art of Charleston to teach my students what fine art means.
I have a life long career in the arts that is helpful to others. I am a devoted advocate of the arts. Please contact me for more info.
